About The Artist...
Erin studied at the prestigious Sir John Cass Department of Art at London Guildhall University where she had an excellent education in the fundamental skills of jewellery and silversmithing. As a result Erin’s work is extremely well made and she uses many different and complicated methods to bring colour, depth, and texture to her work.
Each piece is hand-made in her Exeter workshop where the wonderful Devon countryside provides constant inspiration for her ever-changing design style.
Artist's Statement...
I started making jewellery when I was about 8, but I couldn’t find a market for my braided necklaces and fimo beads and brooches. So, instead, I went to London in 1999 and studied Jewellery and its allied crafts at Sir John Cass department of Art at London Guildhall University.
I find inspiration in so many things, but I am most stirred by the ebb and flow of the natural world around me. I work in Exeter, and also study herbalism, folklore and mythology. I find that aspects of these hobbies creep into my design work.
